Anyone else having issues with the character creation section? For the past 2 hours, I've been getting the: "Connecting..." message the second I double click either PvP-character or PvE-character.

Is Anet aware of this, and can we expect to get this fixed soon? It's kinda gay not being able to make a Ranger to play some PvP.

I'd appreciate it if you chose a different adjective to describe your frustration next time. Using "gay" as a derogatory term is unwarranted and insulting to many people.

To answer your question: have you tried logging into the game itself? Or are you just at the character creation screen? If you haven't, try that to see whether it's a problem with your connection.

had some problems connecting to game (was hanging at connecting) and from time to time i was getting code 40 when i was trying to exit an outpost or move to some outposts... anyway those problems lasted under 1h for me...

based on the traceroute results it was not a problem with my isp or on the hopes between me and the servers

i live in europe, the problem was happening in all districts i tried (aed, asian, european)

Several people have posted in the Tech. Corner area as well. It looks like the European servers are choking on a hairball, because everyone there claiming they have issues is in Europe.

Servers working fine here sure it wasn't your isp or a portal down.

I know I am going to regret this but

Check on the word gay and its usage before objecting to its misuse.

It currently has 3 meanings and just as we can no longer use it for its pre late 19th century meaning ie Happy.
Its 20th century meaning is becoming blurred too.

21st century street usage now has a third meaning as in rubbish.

Languages evolve live with it.
Used as it was by the op its meaning was clear.

It's just like using the word 'jew' to call someone cheap or 'nigger' to call someone stupid. It's a hateful word with deogratory references and associations.

Not at all

English is a rich language and you can use it in many flexible ways and some of those are very wrong.
I see nothing wrong with either of your words if used correctly though it is true due to some terrible periods in world history I wouldn't use the second in any context.

But just as Bad can mean good and Lame can be used to mean something other than a bad leg so gay is widely used to mean Homosexual but also has another meaning not connected to the first.

There is no way on this earth that a server that is broken can be said to be Homosexual, but it could be said to be rubbish.
That is why I said by its usage the word was not intended as a slight on any persons sexuality.

Said I would regret mentioning it.
